Sun, Sand, and Safety: 5 Socially Distant Beach Clubs to Visit in Dubai

If there’s anything more spectacular than watching the sun set over Dubai’s skyline while nestling cosily into a sun lounger at the beach, we are yet to witness it. Having whiled away most of the year courtesy of stay-at-home-orders and social distancing requirements, it’s no surprise that beach clubs reopening across the emirate bear a welcome sign of relief for many. Still, with echoes of the pandemic not quite long gone, hoteliers are expanding their offering to inch beyond sandy shores and savoury canapés, to provide an added focus on safety and social distancing.

If you’ve missed the feeling of sand between your toes, you don’t have to wait any longer; these socially-distant beach clubs await.

White Beach at Atlantis, The Palm

Boasting spectacular views of Dubai’s skyline, White Beach & Restaurant is one of the city’s most Instagram-able locations—and for good reason. While new safety measures include physically distanced sun loungers, thermal checks upon arrival and self-park valet, there have been no changes to the club’s classic offering; from the Mediterranean-inspired menu to the award-winning entertainment. If you’re looking to cool off from the summer heat while eating salmon tartare in an infinity pool overlooking Dubai’s skyline, look no further than White Beach at Atlantis The Palm.
White Beach; open daily from 10am – 7pm.

Drift at The One&Only Royal Mirage

While pool access remains limited due to social distancing precautions, Drift’s private beach club, overlooking a kilometre of serene and untouched sand and shore, is open to visitors once again. Including a restaurant and bar that comprises classic Provençal cuisine, visitors are spoiled for choice with a restaurant menu that mirrors the freshness and simplicity of the ambience within which it exists. Offering panoramic views of the iconic Palm Island Bay, Drift was created to delight the most discerning guest.
Drift Beach; open daily from 10am – 7pm.

Wavebreaker Beach and Grill at The Hilton Dubai Jumeirah

Offering a chic city escape while burrowed away from the bustle of JBR, Wavebreaker Beach and Grill is the perfect place to go if you’re looking to unwind. With a menu offering the best in grilled and smoked delights; including vegan and vegetarian options, along with views of the famed and favoured JBR shoreline, you can’t go wrong lounging away an afternoon here. In light of the pandemic, the Wavebreaker team has also received specific training and are up to date on hygiene protocols and social distancing requirements.
Wavebreaker Beach and Grill; open daily from 10am – 7pm.

Barasti Beach Bar at the Le Meridien Mina Siyahi

One of the city’s oldest and most loved locations, Barasti Beach Bar has recently reopened its doors for the first time in two months. Consisting of all the classics, from a vast outdoor seating area, to the large live-sport big screen, patrons can enjoy a morning, afternoon and evening of eating, dancing and swimming; all of which can be done with the knowledge that new hygiene rules are well in place. If you plan on making a visit, don’t forget your face mask, keep a 2-metre distance at all times and hang out with no more than five people while you’re there.
Barasti Beach Bar; open daily from 9am – 10pm.

Beach by Five at Five Palm Jumeirah

Spanning 150 metres on the West Palm, the beach club at Five Palm Jumeirah is a getaway in honor of all things glamourous. Featuring double sun loungers, cabanas and a deck for dining, the venue offers as much rest and relaxation as it does entertainment and thrill. Guest can enjoy the most stylish dishes including hot tapas from Spain, fresh mezze from Turkey and speciality seafood from Greece. With all hotel staff trained to manage the social distancing and safety requirements of Covid-19, there’s no better place to escape from reality this summer.
