It’s been almost a month since Vogue Arabia hosted what was one of its its grandest celebrations of all time—the second edition of the Ball of Arabia. This time around, the ball celebrated the UAE and its golden jubilee, and was co-chaired by creative director and top business woman Ingie Chalhoub, beauty moguls Huda and Mona Kattan, actor Mona Zaki, and couturier Zuhair Murad. Along with a dazzling guest list, the evening also stood out for its selection of cultural experiences, all curated by the General Women’s Union, and a special musical performance by Kadim Al Sahir. To commemorate the night that was, Vogue Arabia compiled some of the best moments of the beautiful night at Raffles The Palm Dubai, into a vibrant video that may just inspire you to go all-out at your next bash.
Rolling out the night’s events, the video began with names like Rym Saidi, Mona Zaki, Rawdah Mohamed and Lojain Omran, who drove into the venue in style in customized rides by Audi Middle East. The first stop was a trip to a special outdoor section in the shape of the UAE, where guests were introduced to The Guardians of Heritage, and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres including platters of Hadid Caviar while enjoying traditional Emirati music. Then came the trip towards the gilded Level Shoes photo booth, where attendees got a chance to pose in their gold gowns before making their way into the ballroom.
Upon opening the doors of the ballroom, there was no missing there was no missing the rows and rows of dreamy floral arrangements by Zoya Sakr’s The Flower Society that adorned each table. The room came to a hush when host for the evening Jessica Kahawaty stepped onto the stage, followed by Shashi Menon, founder & CEO of Nervora and publisher of Vogue Arabia, and editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut, who thanked everyone for coming and also introduced the main attraction of the evening. Iraqi musical icon Kadim Al Sahir had the audience clapping along to his most-loved songs, concluding the evening on a high note.
No celebration is complete without an after-party, of course, and the 2021 Ball of Arabia was no exception. The evening found guests flocking to the dance floor as the DJ filled the room with upbeat tracks. After months of meticulous planning, it was a night that everyone deserved. More importantly, it was a night that brought everyone together.
