Former Vogue Arabia cover star Ashley Graham and husband Justin Ervin officially welcomed their first child over the weekend, announcing the exciting news of the baby boy’s birth to her newly achieved 10 million followers on Instagram. “At 6 p.m on Saturday our lives changed for the better,” she wrote on her story. “Thank you all for your love and support during this incredible time.”
The excited couple revealed the gender of their first child to Vogue during Graham’s interview for the January 2020 cover, in which her yet-to-be-born baby is still making a star appearance in the supermodel’s protective embrace. “She owed me a boy,” joked Ervin. “What with all of this wonderful, divine, feminine energy she has around her 24/7, I want a little sidekick.”

To say being a new mom is not an easy process is an understatement, but to be a new mom in the spotlight of Hollywood where every step is documented and possibly judged by the public is even harder. Graham spoke about the feelings of doubt and guilt that sometimes surface because of the “impossible standards” social media and society overall place on mothers with actor and fellow celebrity new mom Shay Mitchell on her podcast Pretty Big Deal. “Social media doesn’t always show the whole picture; the sleepless nights, diaper changes, and the pressure and guilt so many moms feel,” Graham shared on a post. “While I could not be more excited for motherhood, I can’t help but be nervous about mom-shaming. As you transition into motherhood it’s up to YOU to know when the time is right to return to work or have a night out.”
Not only has Graham been outspoken about the challenges of motherhood but also how to be confident in a body that seems to be constantly changing in the months leading up to a baby’s arrival. Since revealing her pregnancy on her ninth wedding anniversary back in August, Graham quickly became an icon for fashionable maternity wear with a neverending series of hit looks. Although congratulations are well in order for the supermodel mother, we have to say we’ll miss seeing all the stylish ways Graham dressed her baby bump.
