On March 9, Art Dubai, the leading global platform for art and artists from the Middle East and Global South, returned to its original location at Madinat Jumeirah. Featuring over 100 contemporary and modern galleries from more than 40 countries across four main gallery sections: contemporary, modern, Bawwaba and Art Dubai Digital; a series of ambitious new commissions by internationally renowned artists, ground-breaking group exhibitions and world-class education and talks programs, Art Dubai’s 15th edition is the most ambitious and extensive to date.
As the art world continues to adapt and evolve in the digital and NFT realms, new communities are emerging to support these worlds, involving new creators and stakeholders.
Art Dubai Digital is a new dedicated gallery section that seeks to provide a 360-degree overview of the digital art landscape right now.
Dima Abdul Kader, one half of EMERGEAST, the first online platform to showcase digital art and NFT’s from the region says, “As an online art gallery that advocates art collecting through facilitated means, Blockchain technology cements our mission to create greater accessibility to artists but also advocates digital art that we have always believed to be a pivotal medium to assist artists in realizing their inspirations and creations at a deeper level.”
Her partner, Nikki Meftah admits, “We are excited to showcase our artists at this year’s Art Dubai Digital that are both native and new to the digital art realm. Unveiling how our artists have bridged their physical practice into digital art has opened up a new breadth of work, the ‘phygital’ selection will engage and resonate with collectors in ways previously unexperienced.
Art Dubai is held in partnership with A.R.M. Holding. The lead partner of the fair is Swiss Wealth Management Group Julius Baer. The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is the fair’s strategic partner. Bybit is the lead partner of Art Dubai Digital.
