George Clooney Reveals How His Wife, Amal Clooney Made His “Life Full”

Lebanese human rights lawyer Amal Clooney has changed many lives for the better, particulary, her husband George Clooney‘s, who recently revealed how his wife made his “life full.”

Passionate humanitarian, Amal has been praised by her husband of six years, for many of her international achievements as a human rights lawyer. In a recent, and rare interview, George Clooney expressed his immeasurable gratitude to his wife for changing his life, while proudly discussing her career achievements. The American actor explained that prior to meeting Amal in 2013, he did not believe he would ever get married. “I was like, ‘I’m never getting married. I’m not going to have kids. I’m going to work, I’ve got great friends, my life is full, I’m doing well,” he explained. “And I didn’t know how un-full it was until I met Amal. And then everything changed. And I was like, ‘Oh, actually, this has been a huge empty space,’” he added.

The power couple married in Venice in 2014 and have two children together, twins Alexander and Ella who were born in 2017. George also shared the impact that his marriage and children have had on his life, noting that he had “never been in the position where someone else’s life was infinitely more important to me than my own”.

In the recent interview with GQ US, the award-winning actor also revealed his reasons for stepping back from acting over the last few years, citing wanting to spend more time with family as a major factor. “I would generally rather spend time with Amal than do anything else,” he said.

A constant champion for press freedom, Amal Clooney will be honored on November 19, at the CPJ International Press Freedom Awards, where she will be presented with the 2020 Gwen Ifill Press Freedom Award by Oscar-winning actor Meryl Streep.
