Adriana Lima Visited Lebanon to Meet Children Affected By the Beirut Blast

Supermodel Adriana Lima recently traveled to Lebanon for an advocacy mission in partnership with the Education Above All Foundation (EAAF). Founded in 2012 by HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser, the organization aims to improve the lives of marginalized children and women.

On Sunday, the former cover star was seen at the site of the tragic Beirut port explosion that caused extreme damage to the capital city, including its infrastructure, supply and sanitation, and municipal services. The explosion killed over 200 people and left thousands without shelter.

Lima made the visit shortly after revealing that she was pregnant with her third child with partner Andre Lemmers, at the Balmain show during Paris Fashion Week. The model’s trip also included a visited a school that was decimated by the blast and later reconditioned by UNESCO with the aid of the EAAF. She personally met with the staff and students who witnessed the life-altering event. Other celebrities who have donated to Lebanese relief funds include Amal Clooney, Bella Hadid and The Weeknd. Meryl Streep also did her part to support those in Lebanon by donating US $25,000 to Kafa, an organization that strives to eradicate gender-based violence in the country.

As part of her humanitarian efforts, Lima has also been supporting the St. Luke Foundation for Haiti, which provides expecting mothers free medical care and facilitates education in underprivileged communities.
