The rumor mill has been churning this week. Talk of Adele’s fourth studio album has set social media ablaze, prompting followers to speculate about when the singer will release new music. Now she’s confirmed it: October 15 is the day when Daydreamers (aka Adele’s fan army), will hear “Easy On Me” for the first time.
Adele announced the news on Instagram and Twitter, sharing a short black and white clip that revealed her signature feline eyeliner flick and killer long nails. The opening bars suggest it’s a ballad we can expect from the queen of the tearjerker track.

Adele’s social media pages and website have recently had an overhaul, and over the weekend the number 30 – the reported title of her album – was projected onto buildings including one in Dubai’s Festival City, London’s Tate Modern, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Empire State Building in New York.
Adele’s return to the spotlight feels long overdue. Her public appearances over the past five years have been few and far between, be they on her own Instagram – she publicly backed England in the Euros in July – or IRL (she hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live in October 2020). More recently, she posted a picture of herself wearing a dazzling Schiaparelli gown to join her partner Rich Paul at an event.
Judging by the initial snippet of “Easy On Me,” Adele is sticking to what she does best. The album is likely not, as she joked on Instagram in 2019, “a drum and bass record to spite you all”. Prepare to belt it out in the shower.
