While the 50th UAE National Day will forever be remembered for its unparalleled celebrations, this year’s occasion is also set to be extraordinary. The country is currently gearing up for the 52nd National Day on December 2 leading up to a three-day long weekend for both, private and public sectors. Ahead of this, Expo City, the site of the landmark Expo 2020 Dubai, has announced plans for the official National Day ceremony.
The special day’s events are made particularly significant as they coincide with Cop28, the global climate conference being hosted for the first time in the UAE from November 30 to December 12. As such, the official ceremony will feature “innovative technologies and breathtaking projections,” while also honoring the country’s rich heritage through various elements of traditional Sadu weaving. According to a statement, the show will “illustrate the legacy of our ancestors and the relationship between tradition and technology, reflecting the shared commitment to nurturing and preserving our interconnected world.”

The ceremony on December 2 will be broadcast live on local TV channels, as well as a new dedicated website, Unionday.ae. Visitors will also be able to personally partake in the festivities from December 5 to 12 as the show opens to the public. The 30-minute show will kick off everyday at 6pm at Jubilee Park, with tickets priced at AED 300. Doors are set to open at 4pm, and seats will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Viewers can expect to be taken through the UAE’s sustainability journey via performances and storytelling that also paint a vision for the country’s future, where the world collaborates to overcome climate challenges through collective action.
