After Eid al-Fitr, These Are the 2022 Dates To Look Forward to for Long Weekends in the UAE

As the long Eid al-Fitr weekend has come to an end, one can’t help but wonder about the next time we can unwind with a stretch of days off. And of course, it would be useful to have a list of holidays on hand to plan future travel and staycations.

It may come as a pleasant surprise to many, then, that the next long weekend is a mere month and a half away. The Eid al-Adha break is expected to fall on Saturday, July 9 and last until Tuesday, July 12. Eid Al-Adha translates to ‘the Festival of Sacrifice’, and is one of the most important days in the Islamic calendar.

Islamic New Year

This is set to fall on July 30, 2022, which is a Saturday.

Birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi will take place on October 8, 2022, which, too is a Saturday.

Commemoration Day

Commemoration Day is marked on December 1, which is a Thursday.

UAE National Day

UAE celebrates National Day soon after Commemoration Day, which falls on December 2 and 3, a Friday and Saturday.
