Jennifer Lopez & Alex Rodriguez Have Reportedly Called Off Their Engagement

After a barrage of press reports on Friday announcing their split, it seems Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are still giving their relationship a shot.

Per a statement published via People:  “We are working through some things,” the couple said. A source later clarified to the outlet that “they never officially broke up and talked about it but are still together. They hit a rough patch.”

The couple was last spotted publicly in February at the Super Bowl, one year after Lopez’s own half-time performance. Lopez revealed in December to Elle that their wedding was originally scheduled for 2020, but was subsequently postponed because of the pandemic. “We had to cancel the wedding … because of Covid, because of the quarantine,” she said.

While the pair first met at a baseball game in 2005, they began dating after a chance run-in five years ago. In March 2019, Rodriguez proposed to Lopez on a beach in the Bahamas. Throughout their relationship, their children from previous marriages have become close, and the pair have worked to build an integrated family ahead of their nuptials. “It’s all very complicated between the kids and all their business ventures together,” a source told E! News.

Despite the rumored rocky patch, the pair are putting on a united front—and it seems that wedding bells remain in the couple’s future after all.
