It’s been nearly nine months since Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt reunited on the SAG Awards red carpet and the internet swooned. Getty photographer Emma McIntyre was in prime position to capture their run-in, which reportedly involved Pitt shouting, “Aniston!” to get the attention of his ex. The evening was a good one for both parties – Jen scooped the trophy for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for The Morning Show, and Brad won the award for Best Male in a Supporting Role for his appearance in Quentin Tarantino’s critically-acclaimed movie, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Now, due to the pandemic, spontaneous catch-ups are off the cards. But fans will be thrilled to see that Jen An and Pitt have connected again over Zoom. The duo joined a star-studded line-up – which also includes Sean Penn, Morgan Freeman, Matthew McConaughey, Shia LaBeouf, Julia Roberts, Jimmy Kimmel, John Legend and Ray Liotta – for a live charity table reading of the ’80s classic Fast Times at Ridgemont High, which will be available to stream on TikTok and Facebook on 17 September at 9pm ET (2am BST).

The event is part of Dane Cook’s Feelin’ A-Live benefit, launched to raise money for relief organization CORE and the REFORM Alliance. Cook – who is also the host – shared a glimpse of the reading’s video call set-up, the first time the former couple has shared the screen since Brad made a cameo in a Thanksgiving episode of Friends back in 2001. While it isn’t quite as intimate as their SAG one-on-one chat, perhaps it’s a stepping stone to further collaborations. Fingers crossed.
