Ariana, Miley and Lana Morph into (Charlie’s) Angels in their New Music Video

Our calendars are marked. Our plans are set. Come 15 November, we’ll be watching the girl power-inspired reboot of Charlie’s Angels once again take to the big screen. But, in the meantime, we’ve got three side angels – Ariana Grande, Lana Del Rey and Miley Cyrus – bringing us much-needed sneak peeks.

And the latest comes in the form of the film’s soundtrack. The trio has collaborated on the track “Don’t Call Me Angel”, and are busy teasing the music video directed by Hannah Lux Davis (who has worked with Grande many times now, including on Thank U, Next). Del Rey shared artwork on Instagram with the caption: “Have a good day, angels.”

So far, all we know is that all three stars morph into all-black angels. Wearing super-sized black angel wings, the women appear to be walking down a grand hallway in a brief clip posted by Grande. Fans will need to wait until 13 September to watch the whole thing.

The movie reboot, which sees Kristen Stewart (Sabina Wilson), Naomi Scott (Elena Houghlin) and Ella Ballinska (Jane Kano) come together as the famous Angels, has already received welcoming nods from the industry. Directed by Elizabeth Banks, who also plays the role of Bosley, it’s set to provide us with an empowering spin on the franchise. Scott plays a programmer who “can’t sleep at night” while working on a product that could either “revolutionise” the power industry, or be weaponised with disastrous results. Cue her induction into the Angels sisterhood, featuring Stewart as Sabina, who “runs the ground game”, and Balinska, former M-I6 agent and all-round badass.

Fans of the 2000 blockbuster will be pleased to note the new movie’s trailer features references to Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu, and Drew Barrymore’s time at the Townsend Agency, from sky-diving to a co-ordinated dance number worthy of Sir Mix-A-Lot.

Charlie’s Angels is set to hit UK cinemas from 15 November.
