The Vogue Arabia x MAC Love Me Lipstick Party was a Major 80s Throwback

Last night, at the striking, custom-styled Soho Garden DXB, Vogue Arabia and MAC Cosmetics threw an 80s themed bash to celebrate the cult-favorite brand’s new Love Me lipstick. The collection boasts a bevy of rich shades of “shameless nudes, powerful reds, and high-impact purples.”

Va-va-voom was the order of the night with MAC’s electrifying new shades bringing back the 80s alongside glittery disco balls, nostalgia-inducing music, and a neon-lit (and Instagram-worthy) photo booth. The venue lit up with lights channeling the colors of the lipsticks, creating the perfect ambiance for beauty enthusiasts to come together and dance the night away.

With the Love Me lipstick collection, MAC Cosmetics aims to challenge the notion that makeup is merely a tool to hide one’s flaws; instead the brand wants to highlight the self-empowering capacity of makeup. To take this self-love in a bold new direction, Vogue Arabia and MAC enlisted the help of eight powerful women. As a part of the campaign, Cynthia Samuel, Yara Alnamlah, Leena Al Ghouti, Ameni Esseibi, Abeer Sinder, Asma Eidian, Nouf Hamad AlSultan, and Mthayel Al Ali relayed their personal stories, sharing thoughts on what empowers them.

Joining in last night’s celebration were others from the fields of beauty, fashion, entertainment, and business, including Hala Abdallah, Ameni Esseibi, Deema Al Asadi, Safiyah Abdallah, Rhea Jacobs, Mahmoud Sidani, Nazan Asghar, Farhana Bodi, Melanie Elturk, Shayma Fawwaz, and more.

The party was in full swing with some guests getting their makeup done by professional makeup artists from MAC Cosmetics while others played a fun game of bowling, knocking down lipstick-shaped pins. The prize? A MAC Love Me lipstick to call your own.
