Today marks 20 days since the Beirut explosion ripped through the city on 4 August. Causing unimaginable destruction, it left at least 180 people dead and injured about 6 000. During the past few weeks, communities around the world have rallied together to support those affected by the tragedy. The latest initiative in the UAE sees the region’s best hairstylists from Abu Dhabi and Dubai offer cuts and styles to raise money. Taking place between Friday 28th August and Monday 31st August all proceeds from these services will be donated via the Lebanese Red Cross.
Coordinating the event is Natalie Kasses, L’Oreal International Ambassador. “As we have all looked on helplessly and have had so many clients sitting in our chairs sharing the experiences of their family and friends, we wanted to help. The initiative came together from a community desire to take action and help the people of Beirut during this hardship,” she explains. The cuts and styling will be taking place in the L’Oreal Academy and also the EIDEAL Academy.
“The EIDEAL HQ in Beirut got completely decimated by the explosion but thankfully all our colleagues, families and friends escaped and were completely safe,” says Haysam Eid, Managing Director of EIDEAL. “But we have total empathy for the people of Beirut who lost not just businesses and homes but loved ones. We really wanted to do something to show our support and that our thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time, so we were more than willing to offer the use of the EIDEAL Academy for this event,” he says.
