Tom Pecheux has been appointed as the new global beauty director of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, reports Business of Fashion. The renowned makeup artist has been at the forefront of the cosmetics industry for over three decades, and is responsible for some of the dreamiest runway looks for the likes of Chanel, Elie Saab, Anthony Vaccarello, and Dolce & Gabbana, to name but a few. He is succeeding Lloyd Simmonds.
Pecheux is a logical match for the brand. The makeup artist’s iconic archival backstage beauty looks include bold eyes emphasized with extreme eyelashes and bedazzled cat-eyes. The in-demand makeup artist has worked on set with iconic photographers such as Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, and Mario Testino, painting the faces of numerous models and celebrities for covers and campaigns. He’s also the man behind some of Shiseido’s and Estée Lauder’s most covetable products (including Pure Color Envy).
In his new role, Pecheux will design products for the beauty brand and will continue to transform fashion’s most beautiful faces for future campaigns. “Tom is definitely one of the most talented artists with a brilliant career,” says CEO of YSL Beauté Stephan Bezy in a statement to BoF.
