It is no secret that any creation to join Tom Ford’s Private Blend Collection – known for its artisanal scents – is coveted the world over. “Private Blend is my own scent laboratory; it’s where I create very special, original fragrances that are unconstrained by the conventions of mainstream scent-making,” explains Tom Ford. “Private Blend is designed with the true fragrance connoisseur in mind.”
Fabulous, Tom Ford’s latest foray into fragrance, is no exception. Drawing upon oriental leather, the decadence of the fragrance can be sensed from the first spritz. Clary sage entwines with fresh lavender upon opening, before bitter almond and vanilla envelop your senses in an aromatic twist. Orris root, derived from the iris flower, meets a warm leather heart, where the richness of tonka bean and amber is finished with the smoothness of blond woods.
It’s not just the scent that is to behold. The sleek and supple packaging hints at what the bottle contains. An elegant silhouette in matte black has been carved to offer your dressing table a new-found beauty. The white label is simple yet effective, emblazoned with Tom Ford Fabulous. “It’s undeniably the most straightforward name for such a scent. Why make it complicated? I have always said things in the most simple and direct way possible.”
