Korean Beauty. We’ve all heard about it, some of us have even donned a sheet mask in the shape of a panda bear. For true beauty aficionados, they saw past the apparent K-Beauty trend, understanding that it is more than just gimmicks. The true art to achieving a healthy glow and dewy radiance is through ultra-efficient skincare that’s here to stay. Founded in September 2017 Lamise Beauty is a homegrown brand, bridging the gap between South Korea and the Middle East. Curating a selection of the top cosmetic brands, its founder Kate Wooyeon Park looked to what women of this region needed.
Meaning ‘soft touch’ in Arabic, the concept of Lamise was to touch its client’s beauty softly. That means understanding that skincare doesn’t have to be harsh to be effective. Suffering from dry and sensitive skin problems herself, Wooyeon Park who is from South Korea, traveled back to her hometown to uncover the best cosmetic brands on the market. On her journey, she found Mediheal which is now famed for having sold over one billion masks worldwide, Huxley which looks to the healing powers of prickly pear and Cosrx which work with active ingredients like snail mucin.
Launching her website in November 2017 she has now opened a store so her loyal customers and new fans can fully immerse themselves in Korean Beauty. Located in the heart of Dubai it is found inside 1004 Gourmet, an Asian multi-shop which also features an Asian supermarket and specialty coffee shop – an up and coming hot spot in the region. The store also shelves Wooyeon Park’s very own sheet mask range. Titled Willow, it brings together active ingredients from pearl extract to chamomile and sea buckthorn. Not only offering glowing results, but the packing is also top shelf worthy.
