What are the advantages of lash extensions during the summer?

There are many advantages to choosing lash extensions over mascara in the summer. They save time – avoid spending hours in front of the mirror using an eyelash curler and applying mascara every day and then spending every evening removing it. This will save you time and the hassle allowing you to better enjoy your vacation. Lash extensions are also waterproof and sturdy, there wouldn’t be any smudges or a need to worry about the perfect look all day long, especially if you’ll be spending all day by the beach or doing any activities. In addition to that, they deliver a natural and effortless look for easy mornings where you’ll wake up looking fresh and awake, making you feel great.

What’s the most popular lash style?

We find that most clients request for our natural volume lash extensions, which are a combination of our classic (1D) and volume (2-3D) lashes, giving an effect that enhances the eye without making the lashes look too obvious. Another trending look that we see is the cat eye effect, where we use L curl lashes and place the longest lashes towards the outer corner of the eyes, elongating the eyes and giving a mesmerizing effect to the eyes.

Does the quality of lashes matter?

At Brau, we use high quality premium mink lashes with minimum thickness and a deep black matte finish to give the most natural and soft fluttery effect.

Realistically, how long should lash extensions last? Is it better to allow lashes to fully fall out, or to revisit for refills every few weeks?

Extensions will shed with your natural hair growth cycle, which is typically every four to six weeks. To maintain the look, we recommend refills every two to three weeks as our natural lashes grow. During the refill session, lashes are reapplied to sparse areas where the old lash extensions have fallen out.

Do lash extensions damage the natural lash?

With proper application of lash extensions by highly qualified and experienced lash therapist, the extensions do not damage the natural lashes. Therefore there’s no need to take breaks in between full sets. However, this is more an individual preference.

What other beauty services can complement a lash extensions look?

Brow grooming or microblading treatments complement lash extensions, as they beautifully enhance and draw attention to the eye area. For maximum effect to the lashes, we recommend the lash line treatment, where we add microdroplets of pigment in between the natural lashes on the lash line to add intensity to the lashes and make the eyes stand out. The results of this treatment last up to 18 months. However, a client would need to leave six weeks between their lash line and lash extension treatments.

How do you care for your lashes?

Aftercare is key to get the most out of your lash extensions, Here are a few tips:

1. For the first 48 hours avoid swimming, heaving sweating or washing your face with hot water.

2. Post 48 hours, give them a gentle wash every morning and evening to remove all the oils, sebum & dust that accumulated throughout the day.

3. Avoid oil-based cleansers, heavy makeup, lash curlers and mascara.

4. Avoid picking at your extensions as this will damage your natural lashes.

5. Make sure you brush through your lashes every morning with a clean mascara wand to keep them looking their best.
