French-Algerian actor Sofia Boutella teams up with fellow French-Algerian hairstylist Nabil Harlow, Balmain Hair Couture’s creative director, to offer us a head-turning lesson on chic hairstyles to wear on repeat this season.

THINK STRAIGHT

Crops are back. For a chic take on the trend, create poker-straight hair using a flat iron. Lightly work argan oil into the locks to smooth frizz and add shine.

IN MOTION

Add a little movement to your hair by creating a slight wave. Keeping the feel natural, this shape can be texturized with a touch of salt spray.

TEXTURE TIME

Work dry shampoo into day-old hair for texture. Finish with spray and shine wax to give it an edgy vibe.

ALL THE WAY UP

Twist hair up into a chignon. Use medium hair spray to set and a matte wax to perfect the edges around the face.

AU NATURAL

When using a flat iron, ensure you keep the strands’ natural bounce. Run argan oil through the hair and finish off with a mist of leave-in conditioner spray.

GOT GLAMOUR

A hairpiece can work wonders. Look to Balmain Hair Atelier and its lace front pieces for a natural look that doesn’t lose any of its glamour. Using a curling iron, add shape to the ends of the hair and hold in place with a medium hair spray.
