We’ve all paid homage to Jennifer Aniston’s “Rachel” haircut at some point, whether with a nod to those trademark, face-framing feathered layers, the caramel-meets-chestnut color, or the smooth finish. And if Selena Gomez’s latest hair look is anything to go by, Rachel Green’s influence extends to celebrities, too.
Sporting a new haircut for an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Gomez wore her brunette hair in a style akin to that of Aniston’s most famous character’s look, but with a modern twist: more movement, more volume and a slight nod to the ’70s. Gomez has previously made it known that she is a big Rachel Green fan, when she appeared on The Ellen Show with Aniston back in January.

“Hair inspo was ‘The Rachel’ meets Goldie Hawn in First Wives Club,” her hairstylist, Marissa Marino wrote in a post on Instagram. Gomez’s flicks and rounded layers were very Hawn in the 1996 movie, which saw the star sporting a ’70s-style full fringe.
What both looks have in common is the way the hair kisses the face, framing the cheeks and jawline, while still retaining lots of movement. Gomez’s hair is a fine amalgamation of the two, and offers a modern take on two classic styles.
