Abu Dhabi based property developer Imkan has partnered with the award-winning European health and wellness facility Sha Wellness Clinic to bring their first center to the Middle East. Named the Sha Emirates, the wellness clinic will be ideally located within Imkan’s 370ha AlJurf project. The clinic is set to bring world-class treatment to the Middle East for the first time ever.
This initiative aims to positively influence the life of the visitors by naturally enhancing their existence through the combination of ancient eastern disciplines and cutting edge western methods. With their primary facility located in Alicante, Spain and a second one set to open in 2021 in Mexico, the Middle East center will be Sha Wellness’ third clinic in the world.

Architects NYAA and Brewer Smith Brewer Gulf Group have chosen to build the clinic along the Sahel Al Emarat – also called the Riviera of the UAE. The grounds will traverse an aggregate of 125,000 sqkm that have been designed to work in co-action with nature instilling advanced features that will help limit carbon footprint. The interior and exterior of the facility will also reflect on nature by featuring white elegant curves, and delicately layered edges. The Sha Emirates is also said to boast a total of 120 rooms and suites with hanging gardens where guests will be able to admire the wildlife while overlooking incredible views of the Arabian Gulf coastline.
“After a decade transforming the lives of thousands of people from around the world at our current location in Spain, we dreamt of crossing the seas to new continents,” said Alejandro Bataller Pineda, Vice President of SHA Wellness Clinic.
He added, “ For years we traveled to dozens of locations in search of the perfect nature, warm weather, and accessibility to replicate SHA. It was not easy, but we finally found everything we could imagine and more at the seaside destination of AlJurf, in the United Arab Emirates. The luxury development is surrounded by wildlife and nestled in a beautiful serene landscape. It’s the perfect place for people looking to escape city life and recuperate.”
The total expenditure evaluated for this wellness sanctuary is AED 600 million and it is set to open its doors in the year 2023.
