Watch: Exploring the Importance of Fragrance in the Middle East

Middle Eastern history and culture is steeped in fragrance — and it’s also one of the biggest growing markets in the world. To help scent aficionados and budding noses alike understand just why fragrance forms such a cornerstone of the region, we’re bringing two experts to The Dubai Mall to explore the intoxicating topic.

Famed scent critic Chandler Burr is joined by Vogue Arabia’s Beauty Editor Alexandra Venison to discuss the world of perfume at 5.30pm on the Vogue Loves Fashion Avenue main stage in The Dubai Mall. Moderated by Brandy Scott from Dubai 103.8, the trio will touch on topics from the region’s top noses to where the market is heading. Burr, who was celebrated for his work as a critic for The New York Times before creating the world’s first department for olfactory art at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City, shares his wealth of knowledge, whilst Venison who has been in the region for nearly two decades, brings a local perspective. Here, you can watch a live stream of all the on-stage action.

The Scents of the Middle East will begin at 5.30pm on Friday, November 16, at the Vogue Loves Fashion Avenue main stage at The Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue. Spaces are limited and on a “first come, first served” basis.
