The Middle East is known throughout the world as a hub for all things beauty so it should come as no surprise that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley visited the UAE to film part of her new beauty-centric television show About Face. Premiering today, August 10 on newly launched streaming platform Quibi, the six-episode miniseries “pulls back the curtain on the business behind beauty with some of today’s top moguls,” wrote Huntington-Whiteley on Instagram. Traveling around the world to interview the industry’s most prolific entrepreneurs in makeup, hair, and skincare about their unique journeys to global success, the British supermodel stopped in Dubai to talk to “one of the most iconic makeup artists in the world”: Huda Kattan.
The show’s recently released trailer starts off with Huntington-Whiteley strolling against a picturesque backdrop of the Dubai Marina skyline at sunset before transitioning to a scene of her on the beachfront with Bluewaters Island in the distance. It appears the About Face executive producer and host met Kattan at the FIVE hotel on the city’s iconic Palm Jumeirah island for their all-access chat. Teasing a glimpse of the insider’s secrets to come in another clip from the trailer, Huntington-Whiteley asks the former Vogue Arabia cover star how she built a “billion-dollar beauty brand in the Middle East”, to which Kattan responds with her signature sense of candid humor.
In addition to Kattan, Huntington-Whiteley has an impressive roster of five other beauty trailblazers starring in each episode, from cult-favorite Kylie Lip Kit founder Kylie Jenner and Glossier CEO Emily Weiss, to hairstylist and make-up artist to the stars Jen Atkin and Sir John as well as South Korean beauty influencer Pony. Head to the mobile-first Quibi app to start streaming About Face now and keep an eye out for more footage of Dubai as the season unfolds.
