Did Rihanna Just Bring Back the Thin ’90s Brow Trend?

It feels like 2018 has already seen every eyebrow-raising craze, from the wavy to the feathered brow, and everything in between. However, one particular trend from the ’90s may well be making a resurgence, and it’s all thanks to Rihanna. For the September 2018 cover of British Vogue, the Umbrella singer sports a Prada dress, a lace Savage X Fenty body, and some very, very slender brows. The star, who has become the first-ever woman of color to cover the September issue of British Vogue, has been the talk of the beauty world thanks to the pencil-thin curves sitting beneath her floral crown.

Skinny eyebrows were a staple trend in the 1990s – think early Kate Moss – and stayed in fashion well into the 2000s (who can forget Christina Aguilera‘s Dirrty era?). Every celebrity seemed to sport overly-plucked eyebrows until, suddenly, Cara Delevingne burst onto the scene circa 2010, making the fuller brow the look du jour. So here, in celebration of Rihanna’s landmark cover, we’ve rounded up some of the most iconic thin brows to grace Tinseltown, as well as some of our most beloved bushier counterparts. Which side of the thick vs thin debate do you fall on?
