Rihanna lit up the Dubai skies tonight, with the iconic Ain Dubai wheel illuminated with an exclusive light show by the Fenty Beauty founder. Highlighting her new Icon lipstick collection, the projection on the world’s biggest and tallest observation wheel showcased the lip products just ahead of Valentine’s Day, wowing crowds in the surrounding Dubai Marina and Bluewaters precincts. Choosing Dubai to celebrate the new launch, the one-of-a-kind light show was designed especially for the brand’s Middle Eastern fans.

Announced following the singer’s pregnancy reveal, the new Icon lipstick collection includes 10 hydrating shades with a soft matte finished, housed in refillable packaging. The world got its first look at the new formula when Rihanna wore two of the shades for her carefully crafted baby belly reveal.

While snapped in New York’s borough of Harlem with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, the singer had Fenty Beauty’s global makeup artist, Priscilla Ono, on hand to create the perfect look for the occasion. Ono used two Icon lipsticks, applying a light pink nude shade called Motha Luva to outline and define her lip shape and cupid’s bow – perhaps a sweet nod to her exciting news – then used a neutral pink-nude, Pose Queen, to fill in her lips. A little extra gloss was added using Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in Fu$$y.
Ain Dubai has also converted its luxury cabin into Fenty-themed studio. Between February 8 and 14, guests can explore the new Icon collection from 250 meters up. During the 38-minute ride, Fenty makeup artists will talk visitors through their perfect Icon match, with a special selfie studio to capture the final beauty look. Ticket prices start from AED130 per person.
