She recently spilt the beans on how to achieve those chiseled cheekbones in a video and her trick is to essentially evert the usual routine and contour first and listed down the products that she uses for her routine. While we are accustomed to applying concealer and foundation to our freshly prepped and primed faces, changing the practice to applying your cream contour along the areas you would usually bronze if you think about it, makes complete sense. This ensures that no nasty contour lines appear and you are left behind and gives you a clean finish.

In her video, Phillips’ claims that to her, it only makes sense to apply contour as a first step. “It’s like laying down the bones under the skin. How to achieve the Mary Philips “underpainted” makeup look
1. On a prepped and primed face, Mary starts with cream contour under the cheekbones, across the forehead and under the jawline.
2. Then she applies concealer to the high points of her face – the undereye, chin and forehead and blends it in with the contour.
3. Finally, she applies her foundation with a round foundation brush.
4. Lastly, Phillips goes in and applies 2 layers of blush to top off her base application.
Et voila! This hack has made all the makeup junkies quake in their boots and revealed the secret to our favorite celebrities’ flawless glam looks.
