With the help of her alter ego The Real Fouz (@therealfouz), Fouz Al Fahad has built an impressive beauty empire and loyal following. Referring to her 3.1m Instagram followers as “family,” the entrepreneur has steadily grown her business, which includes a highly successful Kuwait-based beauty salon and makeup line: concealers, contour sticks, and translucent powder are just a few of the products perfectly targeted to her Middle Eastern clientele.

Recently married in an Elie Saab jumpsuit and Cartier high jewelry, Fouz is making the most of some domesticated downtime, swapping flights, and fashion shoots for at-home hobbies. Here, she shares some of the possessions and spaces that have allowed her to find a new level of calm amid the pandemic…

Home sweet home: “There is nothing I love more than chilling in my own home, that I share with my husband. I worked on the interior of the house including every small detail and focused on making it our own – a place for us to build our family in a relaxing and neutral setting.”

Secret garden: “This is where I spend my time working on my laptop; it’s my quiet area, my space of focus…I make the most of it because of the ambiance that I created, especially when the weather is nice and I’m surrounded by birds. Spending an hour here resets my mindset and motivation.”

My BY Fouz Beauty line: “This project was a dream of mine that became a reality a year ago when I launched BY Fouz beauty. This is the best way for me to connect with all of my followers, who I regard as family. My aim is to create products that are of high quality but affordable at the same time – a necessity in every working woman’s makeup bag for an on-the-go lifestyle.”

Art room: “I created a little corner for myself and started painting – something I haven’t done for thirteen years but it has always been a hobby of mine, something that I enjoy doing and would have loved to exceed in. During these hard times, I find such things relaxing and time-consuming…the perfect way to spend the day.”

My wedding ‘dress’: “I got very lucky in finding this stunning jumpsuit by Elie Saab – it was just perfect for the occasion. I really wanted a statement piece that wasn’t too bold but just bold enough for my wedding day. I felt that this piece couldn’t have been a better fit for me. I was extremely happy to be able to get married during these hard times as it was just the perfect day and exactly what we needed to start our lives together.”
