Newly launched perfume brand, Taraf, is produced entirely within the Kingdom, with each fragrance drawing inspiration from the region.
Arabic for ‘luxury’, Taraf was created by Saudi national Faisal Alseghayer, and Gregory Peña, an American. “We wanted to create a brand that celebrated Saudi excellence, to bring a luxury fragrance that is able to compete on the world stage that is produced entirely in the kingdom,” they explain.

The initial collection of six genderless fragrances is inspired by moments in Saudi Arabia’s past and future. “Each of our scents have such unique stories behind them we wanted to ensure we told them in the best way possible, (with) very bold notes and complex scents that can easily take you from day to night, informal to formal.”
“A.: top notes of rose and jasmine, middle notes of patchouli, saffron, and an assortment of flowers, alongside base notes of agarwood, sandalwood and cedar.”
“M.S.: top notes of neroli, jasmine, and peach, middle notes of cinnamon, rose, peach, and leather, with base notes of sandalwood, amber, and musk.
“S.A.: top notes of rose, jasmine, and patchouli, middle notes of orchid, and agarwood. Base notes of tonka bean and sandalwood.”

“Megeve: top notes of petitgrain incense and orchids, middle notes of musk, and a blend of spices, alongside base notes of sandalwood and assorted woods.”
“That One Time in Jeddah: top notes of orange blossom, petitgrain, and honeysuckle, middle notes of jasmine, tuberose, and orchid. Base notes of musk, sandalwood, tonka bean, woods, and spices.”
“That One Time in Riyadh: top notes of incense and pepper, middle notes of ylang ylang and jasmine. Base notes of vanilla, sandalwood, moss, and woods.”
