Hailing from Brazil and of German, Japanese and African descent model Luma Grothe is truly a global citizen. Scouted at the age of 16, the 25-year-old has since walked the runways in Paris, New York and Milan and appeared in campaigns for some of the world’s biggest brands. Now, the face of Paco Rabanne’s Olympea Legend she talks about all things beauty and fragrance.
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty is an attitude, it is something that comes from deep within you. To me, true beauty is to be brave and dare to just be you.
What is your first memory of beauty growing up?
My first memory of beauty was with my mother. She told me that people would always try to tell me who I am and what I look like, but that I should ignore them because who I am, is up to me to decide.
What notes do you look for in a fragrance?
I really like Vanilla.
Talk to us about Paco Rabanne Olympéa?
Olympéa Legend is the second chapter in the Olympéa universe. This time Paco Rabanne have transported us to the desert where we see the goddess in action, for her to show us how powerful she is and what she can do. The fragrance itself is powerful with its mix of sweet and salty. This fragrance isn’t for a specific age, it’s for a woman who is smart, super intelligent, not shy and knows her worth.
Do you believe in mixing perfumes?
I have never tried to mix perfumes, but I hear that people do it to create a unique signature, which I would totally go for.
What are your beauty tips when traveling?
Lots of water, sunscreen, facial massages, keratin hair masks, and physical activity.
What three beauty products could you not live without?
A lip stain, water mist spray, and sunscreen.
How do you feel about beauty in the Middle East?
I like how women value fragrance in the Middle East. I feel like its part of their culture and beauty routine which they really embrace. It is great.
How do you relax?
I read a lot, which takes my mind away from the stress of my daily routine, it keeps me calm and sane.
Do you partake in any wellness rituals?
Definitely! At least once a month I have a spa day, which includes pilates or yoga, sauna, and steam room, swimming, and a massage!
