Mental health awareness is something to be spoken about. Affecting everyone; from the old to the young, the rich to the poor, it centers around factors including mental and physical disorders such as depression, autism, chronic fatigue, and anxiety. Progress has been made over the last few years to break down the stigma regarding mental health and to promote a positive conversation to be had about investing more time and thought into it.
On World Mental Health Day (October 10), we are reminded to reacquaint ourselves not only with the devastation that accompanies mental health challenges but the preventative measures that have and will always lie on the other side of an incomparably important conversation.
If you or someone you know, is in need of help, here are six mental health services you can access across the UAE.
