The weather may be all over the place, but one spot we can guarantee to bring bright, fun, feel-good vibes, is our nails. The neon color-pop mani is shaping up to be one of the biggest nail art trends to have on your radar this summer, and honestly, it’s never looked so chic.
We know what you’re thinking… Neon? Didn’t we drop that in the ‘80s along with spandex and crispy perms? But if our favorite nail artists are anything to go by, the hi-vis shade has been remixed for a modern spin that feels a lot cooler. The trick? Keep the base bare and add pops of colour as an accent, or commit to a clean hit of on-trend shades like electric green and tangerine.
Megan showed off a multi-swoosh mani with neon pops of tangerine, aqua, lemon and hot pink.

We’ve seen the neon color-pop mani trend played out multiple ways on the Insta grids of our favorite pros, too. From simple rainbow micro Frenchies painting each tip a different neon…

To mono-tone color pop Frenchies in fluro shades like highlighter yellow.

And even doubled-up swooshes, with a different brights curved along the tip and cuticle.

The good news is, you can even get in on the action at home with some of the simpler designs.
Digital creator, Melanie from Overglow Edit documented how she created her double curve color-pop mani on Instagram. Starting with a diagonal dash, straight from the nail polish brush along the tip, before a slightly more intricate (but still fairly simple) curve along her cuticle.

Or for something perfect for beginners, she created a double-dash design with two neon shades like acid yellow, tennis ball green, hi-vis violet and tangy orange streaked diagonally across the tip.

So, if you’re looking to get in on the trend, the bank holiday weekend is the perfect time to get in some practice.
