Cosmetics brand Lush is always looking to do good. From its amazing business ethics that include fair trade and not testing on animals to supporting the local communities around it, you know you’re buying into something good. For its latest initiative, it has decided to partner up with Black-Owned businesses in the UAE through the group Black-Owned UAE. Helping to support them during the global pandemic through collaborations, promotion, and training, Lush aims to address inequality and extend a helping hand to those in need.

“We, at Lush, believe that all people should enjoy the freedom of movement across the world and it is a strong part of the Lush ethos to help our communities achieve that,” says Miche Whitehouse the Regional Retail Brand Manager at Lush MENA. “We are so excited to be working with the passionate team at Black-Owned UAE. Many small businesses in the Middle East have taken a hit during the global health crisis and together, we want to support them in any way that we can,” Whitehouse adds.

Looking to build strong working relationships with minority-led businesses in the region, the initial plans see the brand’s support via social media. Across the Lush Middle East Facebook, Instagram and YouTube feeds there will be weekly and static highlights, brand-talk videos, and hosted live and pre-filmed interview sessions or takeovers. Lush will also be offering an upskilling opportunity that sees’s them teach brand communication, soft skills, feedback, and social media training.
