Laura Mercier’s Latest Launches Focus On Flawless Skin

It is no secret that the philosophy at Laura Mercier is to make women feel naturally beautiful, beginning with the skin. Ever striving to offer products that can create a flawless complexion, the brand’s latest releases are promising just this. From reinventing an iconic product to offering up a new chapter in foundation, James Webster, the national makeup artist and trainer for Laura Mercier in the UK, takes us through the essentials.

Get That Glow – Even with powder. “It’s a new icon,” Webster begins. Following on from one of the top-selling setting powders in the world, Laura Mercier has reimagined its Translucent Loose Setting Powder with Glow. “We took everything we loved about the original 12-hour setting power; it doesn’t look textured or dry, and it’s really smooth. It’s also truly translucent. Then we imbued it with this beautiful five-pearl glow,” he explains. Created for people who love a dewy finish, this powder adds glow, unlike its other counterparts which dull skin when set. “It’s grown-up glow. It’s not textured, shimmery and glittery. It won’t make you look like a disco ball,” Webster finishes.

Tool Up – Developed alongside the Translucent Loose Setting Powder Glow is a brush created with perfectly polishing the skin in mind. “You can really buff the skin to a polished effect,” says Webster, “It’s contoured to hug the face.” A velour puff is also at hand to help press the powder into the skin. Apply a small amount of powder, tap off excess, and roll it on. “You get minimum powder on the skin, but maximum setting power,” he says.

Blush Is Back – “It’s not just about the shade but it’s about the placement of the blush,” says Webster. Catering for all skin types, the new Blush Color Infusion arrives in berries, peaches, and corals. “With 10-hour wear it’s essential for people in the Middle East,” he says, “It’s wearable and fresh. It doesn’t wear you.”

Foundation Can Feel Comfortable – “Especially because of the humidity and the heat, it’s all about long-wear base that feels comfortable and looks like skin,” Webster says. Laura Mercier’s Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation has been developed with a weightless formula. Without oxidizing, color stays true throughout the day, even in a climate like the Middle East’s.
