What’s the price of turning back time? According to La Prairie, the cost of pausing the appearance of aging in its tracks is a cool AED 8,026, with the Middle Eastern launch of their ultra-luxe Platinum Rare Haute-Rejuvenation Protocol. A triad of serums, the new addition to the brand’s Platinum Rare collection promises to return firmness, volume, elasticity, and strength to aging, damaged, or fragile skin.
Centered around skin regeneration, the new release’s headlining ingredients includes the patent-pending platinum multi-peptide, and La Prairie’s cellular complex. Aimed at transforming the skin barrier, it makes for an intensive treatment, compensating for the loss and degeneration of the aging process. Each Protocol contains three dual-chamber vials with 10 days worth of formula, activated only when needed to keep the active ingredients as fresh as possible. The three-pronged approach firstly softens the skin barrier. Secondly, existing skin cells are given a renewal boost. As the final step, the serum encourages the creation of new dermal tissue, regenerating the complexion. La Prairie recommends that the ritual be used four times per year as an intensive treatment, giving the skin time to re-balance in between sessions.
Combining art and skincare, La Prairie commissioned Japanese artist Nobuhiro Nakanishi and British composer Max Ritcher, to collaborate on a short film, Eternal Circle. Nakanishi explores the concept of eternity, inspired by his excursions in the Swiss mountains, with a series of sixty individual stripe drawings. Animated into an endless loop, Nakanishi’s drawings form a serene piece of digital art when accompanied by Richter’s Platinum composition, now available for viewing as part of Art Basel.
