After a surprise Las Vegas wedding this past weekend, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finally tied the knot, two decades after first becoming engaged. The newly-minted Mrs Affleck hasn’t remained coy about her new relationship status, with the first details coming to fans in her On the JLo newsletter. Jen’s glam squad also posted some behind-the-scenes shots, including a few from in-demand hair stylist Chris Appleton. His getting ready pics showed JLo with a sweet yet sultry makeup style. Complementing Appleton’s bouncy blow-out – “it was less Vegas, and more about being timeless,” said the celebrity hair stylist about Jennifer’s hairstyle – her makeup also enhanced her natural beauty. While the singer and actor hasn’t yet revealed who did her makeup for the big day, her look can be easily replicated by following these five simple wedding makeup steps.
Here’s how you can recreate Jennifer Lopez’s wedding day makeup at home
1) A glowing base
The singer chose a dewy foundation for her wedding day, for a timeless and romantic look. Subtle highlighting across the cheekbones, cupid’s bow, and the bridge of the nose added to her ‘just married’ glow.
Try: Luminous Silk Perfect Glow Flawless Foundation, Giorgio Armani
2) Switch blush for bronzer
Instead of typical petal pink cheeks, this blushing bride opted for a peachy bronze swept across her nose and apples of her cheeks for a gently sun-kissed finish.
Try: Terracotta Light Powder, Guerlain
3) Eye-enhancing smoky shadow
The bride’s smoky eye was the attention-grabbing focus of her wedding makeup look. Instead of sticking to dark charcoals over the lids, the makeup artist added hints of deep aubergine, blending a purple shadow onto the lid and pressing into the lower lash line to really make JLo’s hazel eyes shine. Flirty and full lashes finished the elegant evening look.
Try: Retro Palette, Natasha Denona
4) Standout brows
Jennifer’s enviable brows were as polished as ever, with a high arch and rich brown hue perfectly framing her face. Using a clear brow gel can set naturally thick brows in place – ready for a night of dancing.
Try: Alias Brow Lamination Gel, Brow Code
5) The perfect nude lip
JLo opted for lipstick in a simple pinky-nude shade, to softly shape and define her pout. Slightly overlining and filling in with a matching lip pencil will help extend the wear of your lipstick, especially for important events.
Try: Matte Revolution Lipstick in Super Model, Charlotte Tilbury
