Jennifer Lopez has a few beauty signatures: the star is practically synonymous with a mile-long swingy pony tail and a set of smoldering smokey eyes. And when it comes to her manicure, she tends to play it cool, often swiping on neutral tones with a mix of playful crystals. But when it comes time to take a beauty risk, Lopez has a “go big or go home” strategy, evidenced today when she revealed a shocking shade of neon yellow on her oval-shaped nails.
“We decided to play off the various shades of neon in her look to make the nails pop,” says the man behind the polish, celebrity nail artist Tom Bachik, who’s responsible for the singer’s major nail moments, including that famous Versace-inspired Super Bowl set. For a taping of her show, World of Dance, the duo decided on a shocking shade of citrine that acted as the ultimate accessory to her custom emerald Versace ensemble. Paired with a slicked-back architectural chignon and a classic nude glossy lip, Lopez’s bright shade of neon is a surprising twist—and a definite spring trend in the making.
