This is the Beauty Elixir Behind Imaan Hammam’s Summer Glow

Besides being a regular on Fashion Week runways, Dutch model of Moroccan and Egyptian descent Imaan Hammam is also blessed with clear, radiant skin that takes the spotlight in many of the fashion campaigns the model has fronted. While it’s obvious that the former Vogue Arabia cover star was born with it, it is safe to say that her Moroccan heritage also plays a major role as the country is home to one of beauty’s biggest heroes: argan oil.

Recently, Hammam took to Instagram to reveal the concoction which helps her achieve “the perfect body glow”.  In her Instagram stories, the model showed herself mixing together fresh pressed carrot juice with pure argan oil from Agadir, Morocco, and crediting her mother for the beauty tip which resulted in a bright orange-colored mask.

Derived from the argan trees in the strip of land between Morocco’s Atlantic coast and the Atlas Mountains, argan oil has long been embedded in Middle Eastern culture and has been used for centuries for culinary and cosmetic purposes. “This oil is so rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, including vitamins A, C, and E, fatty acids, and omega 6,” says Asma El Mernissi, founder of luxury beauty spa Maison d’Asa in Casablanca. There are many ways to adopt argan oil into your routine. To achieve a healthy glow like Hammam, use the versatile oil in a mask as the model did or apply a few drops to slightly damp skin after cleansing and toning as suggested by Moroccan-British May Hamid, founder of skincare label Argan Liquid Gold.
