Yoga teacher Adrienne Everett has quickly found her footing, with the iconic Jumeirah group turning to the American yogi to elevate its wellness offerings at the Burj Al Arab with a luxe Dubai yoga studio.
A finance buff in a previous life, Everett swapped the offices of JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley for the yoga mat, training as an instructor and finding new success within the wellness space. She launched HWH Studio earlier this year, nestled 18 floors up in the hotel’s luxury Talise Spa. Its first dedicated Dubai yoga studio is already drawing a well-travelled clientele who know their asanas from their prana, with group yoga classes and private sessions available to book. Everett has also held events for Dior, Estée Lauder, and Hermès, and is working with new-to-the-region activewear brand Alo. Read on to find out the philosophy behind HWH Studio, and how we can become less stressed without having to quit our own jobs.

What was the catalyst for bringing your classes to Dubai, and what was the journey that led you here?
It stemmed from recognizing the city’s vibrant culture, diverse population, and a growing interest in holistic wellness practices. Our journey to Dubai was driven by a desire to share our expertise in transformative wellness with a global audience. We were drawn to Dubai’s cosmopolitan atmosphere and its reputation as a hub for innovation and luxury. Through collaboration with local partners, we established HWH Studio within the prestigious Burj Al Arab, aiming to offer an unparalleled experience in wellness and self-discovery to residents and visitors alike.
What does your day to day look like?
As the founder of HWH Studio, my daily routine involves wearing many hats to ensure the smooth operation of the studio and the delivery of outstanding experiences to our clients. I engage in strategic planning to chart the studio’s growth and development, manage our team of instructors and administrative staff, and personally interact with clients to gather feedback and address inquiries – did I mention teaching classes? Additionally, I oversee the development of our wellness programs and events, manage our marketing and promotional efforts, handle financial matters, and ensure the quality and consistency of our offerings. Overall, my role is multifaceted, requiring me to juggle various responsibilities to maintain the high standards of HWH Studio- but I must say I have the best team.
What’s the hardest lesson you’ve learnt as an entrepreneur in wellness?
One of the hardest lessons I’ve learned as an entrepreneur is the importance of balancing passion with practicality. While passion is undoubtedly crucial for driving innovation and fueling perseverance, it’s essential to temper it with a pragmatic approach to business. Early on, I learned that simply having a passion for wellness and fitness isn’t enough to guarantee success. Building and sustaining a business in this industry requires careful planning, sound financial management, effective marketing strategies, and a keen understanding of market trends and customer preferences. Overall, the hardest lesson I’ve learned is that success requires more than just passion; it demands a strategic mindset, resilience, adaptability, and a relentless focus on delivering value to customers.
What’s been your biggest professional achievement so far?
My biggest professional achievement thus far has been taking a leap of faith, departing from my corporate job to follow my passion for yoga and becoming an entrepreneur. This journey not only allowed me to collaborate with my favorite brands but also led to the realization of a dream: opening the first yoga studio in the world’s only 7-star hotel, Burj Al Arab in Dubai
How have you found working in the Middle East? Have you felt supported by the community?
Working in the Middle East has been a truly magical experience for me. The support and generosity extended by the local community have been nothing short of remarkable. I’ve felt incredibly blessed by the warmth and encouragement I’ve received since starting my journey here. The sense of opportunity in this region feels boundless, and I’m excited to continue exploring and contributing to its vibrant community.
What advice would you give to a younger you?
If I could offer advice to my younger self, it would be to trust in your intuition and follow your passion fearlessly. Stay curious, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to take risks.
Why did working in wellness appeal to you?
Recognizing how prioritizing my own wellness has profoundly transformed my life, I felt compelled to pursue opportunities in the wellness industry. My desire stems from a deep-seated passion to share my journey and positively influence the lives of others through the power of yoga.
What future goals are you working towards?
Currently, I’m focused on several future goals aimed at furthering the impact and reach of wellness in both local and global communities. These goals include expanding the offerings and accessibility of wellness programs at HWH Studio, fostering partnerships with like-minded organizations to promote holistic health initiatives, and exploring opportunities to leverage technology to enhance wellness experiences. Additionally, I’m committed to continuing my personal growth and development as a wellness advocate and entrepreneur, seeking opportunities for education, collaboration, and innovation within the field. Ultimately, my aim is to inspire and empower individuals to prioritize their well-being and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
