The year 2020 has changed the way we do a lot of things, including hair care. While frequent visits to the salon are a thing of the past, there has never been a better time to invest in a good hairstyling tool – especially with Philips launching its new Hair Dryer Prestige with SenseIQ technology.

The unique hair drying tool adapts to the individual needs and condition of the hair while retaining as much moisture as possible to ensure hair stays healthy, even after using heat. The hair dryer features six digital drying programs: Fast, Gentle, and Manual for drying, Style and Curl for styling, and Scalp, which, when paired with the tool’s scalp massager attachment, offers a relaxing experience.

If you have ever wanted to recreate the glamorous blowout spotted on your favorite celebrity, but the fear of heat damage has held you back, let this Phillips hair dryer be your trusty new tool. “When it comes to hair health, a key cause of damage is moisture imbalance,” explains Ilham Mestour, expert hairstylist and Philips hair care ambassador. “While we want to dry the surface water on the hair after washing, we still want to prevent the loss of ‘bound’ water within the hair, as this is what keeps hair looking healthy and shiny. With this in mind, Philips has developed the Philips Hair Dryer Prestige, a hairdryer featuring unique SenseIQ technology that is proven to lock in up to 95% of moisture (tested in Gentle mode after five minutes of drying) for healthy looking, shiny hair.”

Here, the hairstylist details how to achieve an immaculate blow-dry at home using the Philips Hair Dryer Prestige with SenseIQ technology, as well as these two hairstyles sported by actors Yasmine Sabri and Saba Mubarak at the El Gouna film festival 2018.

• The perfect at-home blow-out is not as tricky as it sounds. You can either invest in a few tools, or one Philips Hair Dryer Prestige, to make it even easier.

• Start by flipping your head upside down, and shake your hair around while you blow-dry.

• The more you move, the more volume you’ll get. Once hair is about 70% dry, flip your head back up and blow-dry hair in sections to smooth, focusing on polished ends.

• The last three inches are key: Move your brush and dryer right down to the very end of the strands and take your time. It will make all the difference.

• Think of your hair like your skin – what you put on it will affect it. Investing in good quality products and tools will keep hair looking and feeling healthy and strong. When your hair is soaking wet, it is weaker, fragile, and more susceptible to breakage.

• For both looks, start with the same technique. The only difference is in the parting of the hair – choose either a classic middle part or an edgy deep side part.

• Using the right size round brush is also important. To achieve look one, you need to use a big round brush. For look two, to get more waves in the hair, use a medium or small round brush, depending on the length of your hair.
