Is the lob finally over? According to the recent crop of A-list beauties debuting swingy, Rapunzel hair, the answer is “Yes.” For her 20th birthday, Palestinian mega model Bella Hadid stepped out in a sheer, metallic mini-skirt and chainmail top by Fannie Schiavoni and waist-skimming lengths via the help of extensions. Meanwhile, hair chameleon Rihanna debuted a set of swingy dreadlocks on Instagram mere days after Marc Jacobs sent his models down the Spring 2017 Ready-to-Wear runways in a mountain of pastel-colored dreads. The latest to get hit by the extension bug was Beyoncé. For the Tidal X: 1015 event, Bey slicked her lengths into a high braided ponytail that fell past her hips. But perhaps the one who has us speed-dialing our hairdresser for a long hair transformation is Egyptian actress Sherihan. The beauty icon—who made her on-screen debut at the age of 12—is genetically blessed with naturally long, wavy lengths that make us want to order Viviscal in bulk.

“Those looking for an instant transformation can opt for tape-in hair extensions,” suggests Georgia Musgrave, hairstylist at the cult-favorite Sisters Beauty Lounge in the Dubai Mall. “They’re more natural and weightless,” she explains. A 45-minute process, the tape extensions—which involve strips of hair attached to the roots using a sticky adhesive—are less of a commitment than clip-ins and don’t require constant removal and application. As for caring for them, “Just treat them like your own hair,” says the hairstylist. “Make sure you shampoo them regularly, and use heat protection if you’re going to straighten or blow-dry them,” she adds. The sticky extensions can last for up to two months and can be reused up to five times depending on how well they are cared for.

Find tape-in hair extensions at the Sisters Beauty Lounge branches located in the Dubai Mall; Mall of the Emirates; and Jumeirah Beach Road, Dubai. Prices vary from AED/SAR 1000 to 4500 depending on how many packets are used.
