Set to adorn every fragrance aficionado’s vanity, Gucci’s latest foray into perfume The Alchemist’s Garden offers up an apothecary-style array of treasures. Donned with gold detailing, flowers and animal incarnations the 15-strong line features seven eaux de parfums, four oils, three acque profumate and for the true fragrance lovers a limited-edition candle. Having previously worked together on Bloom, Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele partnered with master perfumer Alberto Morillas for the line.
Focusing on seven keynotes: violet, amber, iris, mimosa, rose, woods, and oud the scents combine pure natural plants and flowers, layered with modern molecules. “The idea that some primary scents of perfumery, like the essences of the flowers, the green scent of some plants could be joined to atmospheres, linked to memories,” explains Michele, “And also link to the idea that a perfume in an alchemical way can through a scent bring you back to a different place, through a sense so strong and so important for every human being.”
Customizable and transformative layering is at the forefront of the concept of the collection with the perfume, oils, and water offering 48 possible outcomes. “The oils and acque profumate create individual statements. Personalize your beloved scent with an oil or floral water to build a unique sillage,” says Morillas.
Starting at $240 (AED/SAR 995 the collection is available at the new Gucci beauty bouiqtue at Bloomingdale’s at The Dubai Mall.
