While all of the elements that make up the typical Gucci Girl look were ever-present at Alessandro Michele’s Alchemist Garden for Fall 2017 (barely there brows, oversized spectacles, intricately-tied headscarves), breakout new beauty trends also featured. The looks included bold lipstick, amped up hairstyles, and quirky accessories by makeup maestro Pat McGrath and backstage hairstylist Paul Hanlon. From outlandish face embellishments to ‘90s-inspired tresses, we highlight our favorite beauty looks from the Gucci Fall 2017 Ready-to-Wear runway.
Half of the models took to the runway with spiked, silver bull-ring piercings stuck through their noses. While many models sported headscarves and oversized hats, others donned gym-inspired sweatbands (complete with the Gucci logo) placed firmly across their foreheads.
Pat McGrath updated the scene-stealing glitter lips that are currently sweeping the runways by way of an exaggerated cupid’s bow.
Models took to the runway with kinks running down their lengths and generous swirls of blush on the apples of their cheeks. A single, silver star was affixed underneath their eyes.
Long, glitter talons shone even brighter against shimmering, crystal-laden face masks.
A hair elastic was rendered unnecessary for the pigtail plaits created by Paul Hanlon. Instead, a loose wisp of hair was used to secure the twists. Contrary to the bedazzled, oversized spectacles they were paired with, these plaits are not for your average school girl.
