What kind of fragrance wearer are you? Are you loyal to one signature scent that you never stray from or do you play with different perfumes depending on your mood and the occasion? This week, H&M announced the launch of a new fragrance collection consisting of 25 different options, providing a whole host of opportunities for everyone to find their own special scent. The new collection from the high street giant has been created with one of the world’s leading perfume houses, Givaudan, available in store and online from August 16 in all 47 markets that carry H&M Beauty.
All of the fragrances were created through a close collaboration between the in-house H&M team and the perfumers Olivier Pescheux and Nisrine Grillié from Givaudan. Pescheux is an award-winning perfumer, while Grillié is a rising star within the industry. “We focused a lot on high quality ingredients, from the single note fragrances to the contemporary blends and the more nuanced perfumes that really highlight the origin of the key ingredient. It has been an honor to collaborate with H&M and alongside my colleague Nisrine Grillié for this exciting fragrance collection,” Olivier Pescheux explained.
The three groups in H&M’s “wardrobe of fragrance” will be purse-friendly, the brand says. The Singles group offers an array of 10 different scents that revolve around a single note, such as vanilla, chocolate or yuzu. The Reveries, available in both eau de toilette and body mist, are 10 different blended fragrances that evoke a certain feeling with names such as Freewheeling, Sparks Will Fly and Above the Clouds. Finally, five different perfumes that are more nuanced and complex complete The Essences range. The Essences are made around a key ingredient of the nest quality, such as sandalwood, patchouli or rose and come as either an eau de parfum or a roll-on perfume oil in a convenient pocket size to throw in your bag. Sara Wallander, Concept Designer for H&M Beauty told Vogue UK exclusively: “We did not want to narrow it down to a specific customer, occasion, style or taste. The fragrances are targeting different tastes, and all the ingredients are of high quality.”
