French-Algerian model and muse Farida Khelfa reveals that life can be measured in two phases: before she cut her hair and afterwards. Speaking to Vogue Arabia, Khelfa explains that she chopped her enviable mane of waist-grazing curls during her first pregnancy. The beauty icon opted for a lob, but then continued to snip it until it was well above her ears. “I felt like another person,” she reveals, “it created my identity and new life as a mother and a lot of other things.” When asked if she would ever grow her hair long again, Khelfa rejects the idea, stating, “That part of my life is over.” The ambassadress of the House of Schiaparelli maintains her signature cut by getting it trimmed routinely, and lists a number of trusted hairstylists in Paris, including Benjamin Bergh and Claude Maxime, as her go-tos.
As for her everyday makeup routine, it’s very minimal, and involves a small dab of concealer and soft swirls of blush. The 56-year-old also notes that she applies sun protection everyday. “I slather it on my hands, neck, and décolleté,” she says; meanwhile we credit her inimitable joie de vivre for her glowing look.
