For a true passion project, it’s no wonder that the first product launch for Dubai-based celebrity makeup artist Hindash’s own beauty brand, was heavily influenced by his life experiences and inspirations. “The shade names are all personal  names to me that reflect my past, present, and future as an artist,” the social media influencer tells Vogue Arabia.

The 31-year old Jordanian says that a childhood spent in the city inspired a shade in his Beautopsy Pressed Pigment Palette. “The first shade TAN+LINES, which is a soft tan brown that blends into a pure white, is a nod to my childhood growing up in Dubai,” he explains, with the blendable gradient hue representing memories of being “carefree, under the sun, an endless summer”.

Read on to discover the personal meaning behind each of the six gradient pigments in Hindash Cosmetics’ Beautopsy Pressed Pigment Palette.

“The first shade TAN+LINES, which is a soft tan brown that blends into a pure white, is a nod to my childhood growing up in Dubai. Carefree, under the sun, an endless summer.”

“WET+PAINT, which is a beige that blends into a banana yellow, reflects my journey as an artist and a painter. This really shows what an art geek I am because wet paint literally dries slightly darker, and the soft beige blends into a slightly darker soft yellow gives that same effect!”

“BOY+WONDER, a peach that blends into a bubblegum pink, is the most ‘feminine’ shade in the palette, and I wanted to contrast that with a ‘masculine’ name. An outdoorsy healthy glow, a boyish charm, sun kissed cheeks. It’s such a beautiful flush of color.”

“FEEL+REAL, a neutral brown that blends into a true concrete gray, symbolizes authenticity and individuality. Warm, strong, set in stone. It’s also such a beautiful contour color, which you can lighten up with WET+PAINT.”

“LOVE+KILLS, a fiery orange that blends into a hot red, is such a vibrant shade. I went back and forth on the name because I didn’t want it to sound too intense, but I knew this was meant to be. The warmth of love, and its darker side.”

“Finally, INTRA+FATUM, a chocolate brown that blends into a black, is one of my all time favorites. The last three shades are all tattoos of mine as well.  INTRA+FATUM is about destiny and stepping into the unknown.”

The Beautopsy Pressed Pigment Palette by Hindash Cosmetics, US $70, is sold exclusively on hindash.com.
