If the relentless city heat has you daydreaming about jumping into the nearest body of water to cool off, take a beauty cue from Emma Watson at last night’s MTV Movie Awards. The Beauty and the Beast actor scooped up the first gender-neutral acting award with an inspiring speech, sporting a sleek, raked-back updo crafted by celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel that could beautifully take you from the beach to red carpet in a split second.
Inspired by “classic 1990s Peter Lindbergh slicked styles” (think: Christy Turlington circa the early 90s), the hairstylist pulled back Watson’s dry lengths and saturated them with Virtue Create The Uplifted Volumizing Whip, before creating a deep side part with a wide-tooth comb. He then secured her hair into a neat ponytail below the voluminous crown with a silver elastic wire, letting the excess wire hang loose. Abergel folded the tail in half, and wrapped the leftover wire around it. A misting of hairspray created a high-shine wet look and locked the style in place. Paired with a sharp cat-eye and rose-colored lips, the look translated flawlessly on the red carpet.
