Watch Dorra Zarrouk Get Glammed Up and Talk Beauty at the Armani Hotel, Burj Khalifa

With glamorous beauty looks and stunning outfits in tow, Tunisian actor Dorra Zarrouk makes the best-dressed list for every red carpet event she makes an appearance at. Here, she talks beauty and cinema while turning the Armani Hotel into her very own red carpet, with a little help from Armani Beauty.

Dorra Zarrouk‘s talent knows no bounds. The Tunisian actor is one of Arab cinema’s most successful stars, a graduate of law, as well as a master of political science. She does this and more with beauty, grace, and confidence, which shows through in this special collaboration with luxury makeup brand Armani Beauty.

While Zarrouk was getting glammed up with some of Armani Beauty’s finest makeup products, and in a dazzling Giorgio Armani ensemble, for a night out in Dubai, we caught up with the actor at the Armani Hotel, Burj Khalifa. Below, she shares her thoughts on the concept of beauty, where she draws her confidence from, and her tips for a statement red carpet look.

What does the concept of beauty mean to you?

Beauty to me is a state of mind. When you feel confident, your beauty is nurtured by this feeling of inner peace, simplicity, and sophistication. When a woman feels confident, she starts to shine with her charisma and she is not afraid to show her real self to the world.

What do you consider to be your greatest career highlights?

I have been acting since 2002 and have featured in more than 50 movies and TV shows, and I am still counting my blessings. I have been nominated a couple of times for best actress awards and I am truly grateful for the support of my audience.

Who is the Armani woman to you?

The Armani woman is powerful, elegant, and sophisticated. She is flawless and through her natural look, she emanates a beautiful femininity. She is a life achiever. The Armani woman radiates confidence and independence. As an actor, I relate to the Armani woman, who I can see being a cinema and art lover. As a woman, I connect with Giorgio Armani’s belief that “simple is more.”

What draws you to the Luminous Silk collection? 

Feeling confident in my makeup is very important, because my days are quite busy. I love using the Luminous Silk Foundation because it gives me that radiant, silky, and flawless finish all day. You’re not one to shy away from a statement beauty look on the red carpet. What are your tips for achieving your signature look?

One of the most important beauty tips that I can reveal is to keep your individuality and show the essence of who you are when you walk the red carpet. Your hair, your makeup, and your gown need to be perfect to express your true personality and reveal your inner beauty.

These moments spent photographed on the red carpet are precious, and having the right foundation that enhances the beauty of your skin and the strength in your eyes, is key to remaining elegant all the way. With the eyes being the windows to the soul, I like to create an intense yet elegant eye makeup look. I like to use Black Ecstasy Mascara to give extreme full volume and length to create a sophisticated look.

I believe in a timeless aesthetic, therefore I like to go with an iconic red on the lips for a touch of glamour. Again, as I don’t compromise on comfort, I use Lip Maestro shade 400.

How do you feel preparing for and walking down the red carpet?

First of all, I am grateful to be a part of the cinema industry since it’s a childhood dream come true. Cinema for me is synonymous with a timeless aesthetic. When I walk the red carpet, I feel that I pay tribute to the cinema award shows and to the creatives who put their heart and soul into producing a film.

Where do you draw your inner confidence from? Both when taking on a big role, and when making a red carpet appearance.

Every milestone to me is an achievement that builds my confidence and keeps me going, to take on the next role, or to decide my next career path. I am also inspired by the beautiful women around me who act as role models and share wonderful life lessons.

The film industry can be, of course, very demanding on your skin, with constant makeup changes. Has your approach to beauty and wellness changed over the course of your career?

My approach to beauty and wellness has definitely adapted throughout my career, since filming for hours can impact the skin. I am used to maintaining a healthy diet, drinking a lot of water, and using quality products to nurture my skin. It is important for me to rest and take some time for myself where I can reflect and relax my mind.

Do you have a signature Lip Maestro color or do you prefer to play around with different shades?

When choosing a lip shade, it really depends on the occasion. For instance, for a red carpet look, I like using a bold color, such as the iconic shade 400 of Lip Maestro, which you can never go wrong with. It suits every skin type. For a more subtle celebration or work meeting, I like nude colors. I would use, for instance, shade 501.

Step 1: Face

Prep your skin with Luminous Silk Hydrating Primer to achieve a natural glowing skin that stays looking fresh all day long. It will boost the glow on your skin while adding hydration and radiance. Take two drops and blend it on your skin using your fingertips.
