On April 5th Beyoncé released a new music video for her song “Die With You” in honor of her and Jay Z’s ninth wedding anniversary. The video is filled with adorable home footage documenting the couple’s relationship, which she later released on www.beyonce.com. Among the images of her engagement ring and romantic vacations, one particular photo caught our eye: A profile shot of the expecting superstar sporting a silk, twisted turban with a pearl affixed neatly in the back. The couture turban is the handiwork of Tunisian millinery designer Donia Allegue, who excitedly tells Vogue Arabia, “This is the third time Beyoncé has worn my turban!”

The first time was in 2015 (two years after the milliner launched her eponymous brand), when she was approached by the singer’s stylist. “I thought it was a joke,” she says. Allegue went on to create a number of different custom-made headwraps in her atelier to present to Beyoncé, and the singer ended up wearing one to a party in New York City in 2015. She was spotted with her hair tucked underneath the made-to-measure turban inspired by the blend of a French twist hairstyle and “hip hop audacity” again in Italy last summer.

“I had a lot of demand from private clients and retailers after that,” the millener says. Other celebrities who favor her designs include Diane Kruger and Alicia Keys. Since the turbans are handmade from the finest materials (and take up to six hours to create) by top craftsmen in the south of France, Allegue can’t take every request. This means you have to be on a waitlist for at least four months before you can get your hands on one – unless you’re Beyoncé, that is.
