Kristen Stewart’s New Chanel Campaign is Here

Photographed by Karim Sadli

A week before Chanel’s Resort 2018 show, it was revealed that Kristen Stewart would be the face of the new Gabrielle fragrance – the maison’s first standalone perfume in nearly 15 years. Three months later, the campaign has arrived.

Shot and directed by British filmmaker Ringan Ledwidge, the campaign video begins with the actor and house muse freeing herself from the confines of a cocoon and breaking into a liberating run to the soundtrack of Naughty Boy’s “Runnin’ (Lose it All),” featuring Beyoncé. Stewart eventually crashes through a glass wall, to the promise of freedom on the other side.

Savvy Chanel fans will remember that Stewart has already served as the face of campaigns such as the Métiers d’Art collections (Paris to Dallas in 2014 and Paris to Rome in 2016) and is currently featured in the advert for the latest bag launch of a style bearing the same name – Gabrielle, Coco Chanel’s birth name.

The print ad (above) was photographed by Karim Sadli, who was also entrusted to shoot the Chanel N°5 perfume campaign starring Lily-Rose Depp. The promotional film is set to make its screen debut on September 1, but in the meantime, watch the full clip below.
