Hair divided neatly down the center ruled the Spring 2017 Haute Couture runways, where models traded casually side-swept hair for something more precise. Backstage at Dior, fuzzy, pre-Raphaelite curls fell evenly on either side. Poker-straight lengths elevated the smooth, symmetric lines at Valentino Couture, while at Schiaparelli the neat hair parting was accentuated by a thick headband. But the classic ‘90s look wasn’t just reserved for the shows; center partings were also seen off the runways on the real life street style circuit. Outside of the shows, a number of the week’s street style stars––including Gilda Ambrosio, Negin Mirsalehi, and Olivia Palermo––chose to forego sleek side sweeps in favor of a clean split down the middle. Whether hair was waved, pin-straight, or tucked into their coats, a center part proved to be the easiest way to reinvent any look.
